CAUSES OF CLIMATE CHANGE
By burning fossil fuels, tearing down forests, and raising animals, humans are progressively influencing the climate and the earth's temperature.
The ten most common causes of climate change are listed below.
1. OVERFISHING:
Fish is one of humanity's primary sources of protein, and the industry now supports a large portion of the global economy.
There is currently less marine life due to the increased number of people buying and eating fish.
Overfieshing has also resulted in a loss of ocean variety.
2. INDUSTRIALIZATION
Industrialisation has a number of negative consequences. All of the waste generated by this industry ends up in landfills or in our environment.
Chemicals and minerals used in industrialisation have the potential to damage not just the atmosphere but also the land beneath it.
3. AGRICULTURE
Because farming consumes a lot of green land, local habitats may be devastated to make room for farming.
These creatures emit a large amount of greenhouse gases, such as methane, as well as an enormous amount of excrement.
Because of the additional pollutants it produces and the number of animals it can hold, factory farming contributes to even more climate challenges.
4. COMMERCIALISM
Customers can buy any goods at any time because to technological and industrial advancements.
This means that we are manufacturing an increasing number of things each year, and we are overproducing them.
Most of the things we buy aren't very sustainable, and we're producing more waste than ever before due to the shorter lifespan of electronics and apparel.
5. TRANSPORTATION AND VEHICLES
Cars, planes, boats, and trains account for a substantial portion of transportation, and they all run on fossil fuels.
Carbon and other pollutants are released into the atmosphere when fossil fuels are burned.
As a result, transportation contributes to greenhouse gas emissions.
6. DRILLING FOR OIL
Oil drilling is responsible for 30 percent of methane emissions and about 8% of carbon dioxide pollution.
Oil drilling is used to collect petroleum oil hydrocarbons. As a result of this process, other gases are released into the atmosphere, contributing to climate change and being toxic to wildlife and the environment.
7. PLANTS WITH STRENGTH
Power plants run by burning fossil fuels, which results in a range of pollutants.
They produce pollution that not only winds up in the atmosphere but also in waterways, contributing significantly to global warming.
Coal combustion in power plants is responsible for around 46% of total carbon emissions.
8. WASTE
Because of the amount of packaging used and the short product life cycle, humans are producing more waste than ever before.
Many things, garbage, and packaging are not recyclable, meaning they wind up in landfills.
When landfill waste decomposes/breaks down, hazardous gases are released into the atmosphere, contributing to global warming.
9. DEFORESTATION
Deforestation is the clearing of woodland and forest for the purpose of harvesting timber or making room for farms or ranches.
Because trees and forests convert carbon dioxide into oxygen, the stored carbon is released into the environment when they are cut down.
Natural deforestation can also occur, and the fumes generated from it have a higher impact.
10. GAS AND OIL
Oil and gas are used in practically every business on a daily basis. It is mostly employed in automobiles, buildings, manufacturing, and the generation of power.
We contribute significantly to the climate crisis through burning coal, oil, and gases.
Fossil fuel consumption is also harmful to wildlife and the environment because of its toxicity, which kills plant life and makes areas uninhabitable.
