Her death was reported on her Instagram page on Tuesday.

The message, which included a photo of the dead, stated, "She can't be gone! How am I supposed to see your laughter? Oh my goodness. Obi’m! Emesi, Madam Social"

Her photo was also posted on her Instagram story with the caption "RIP."

Earlier on Tuesday, the speaker disclosed in an Instagram live video on her page that Madam Social had been unwell for several weeks and was unable to speak.

"Please pray for Madam Social," the video's description read.

Some celebrities and fans have expressed their condolences following the death of the Anambra-born skit artist.

"Wow!" wrote businessman Obi Cubana. What a sad story! Mama, good night!"

"Oh my God," wrote actor and singer David Jones David. Why now? I only found out about her two days ago. This is heartbreaking. Mama, rest in peace."

Other admirers sent their condolences to the elderly comedian, saying she will be much missed.
